When someone asks us for a quote for a cheese board or grazing board, the conversation usually starts with the same practical details: how many people will be attending, what type of event it is, whether we need to consider vegan options or dietary requirements, and how we can adapt the proposal to their needs.
However, when we read the reviews clients leave after their events, the comments are rarely focused only on the food. In fact, one of the things that has surprised us most is how often people remember details that, at least in the beginning, we didn’t always realise were so important.
Some mention the presentation. Others talk about how easy the whole process was to organize. Many mention the reaction of their guests when they saw the table set up. And there is one comment that appears again and again: that the grazing board became a natural meeting point during the event.
It makes sense. At the end of the day, most of our clients are not organizing events simply because they want to serve cheese or charcuterie. They are organizing meetings to bring teams together, celebrations to thank people for their work throughout the year, or client events they want to be remembered for more than just a PowerPoint presentation.
Over the years, we have worked with startups, agencies, international offices, and teams of all sizes. Although every event is different, one thing often stays the same. When food encourages people to stand up, share, and talk, the atmosphere changes completely. People mix more naturally, unexpected conversations begin, and the overall experience feels much more relaxed and human.
Perhaps that is why we value reviews so much. Not because they tell us the food was good — that is the minimum we expect to deliver – but because they help us understand the real impact the event had on the people who were there.
If there is one thing we have learned from reading hundreds of comments, it is that people remember how they felt. And when someone writes to tell us that everything went better than expected, that their guests loved the experience, or that they are already thinking about their next event, we know we have done our job well.
To every client who has taken a few minutes to share their experience with us: thank you. Every comment helps us keep improving and reminds us why we started The Board Barcelona.
